Financial Update

a letter from our LEADERSHIP:

Downtown Church NEEDS your help!

A friend of DC recently stated, “It’s fabulous to worship with a congregation that has reflected one vision since its inception.” Downtown Church exist to form a new community, radically loving Christ and neighbors. We intend to fulfill this vision and we need your help.

Did you know that more than $2 billion is being invested in development of Downtown Memphis? There is an unprecedented opportunity before us and I am more encouraged than ever to reach a rapidly growing downtown for Jesus.

Downtown Church, like many other churches/non-profits, depends upon end of year giving to make budget. By God’s grace and your commitments, we have always met our budget. However, this year, giving has not occurred at the rate we have experienced in past years. In light of this, we are currently facing a deficit of $182,850. This is a significant shortfall to our one million-dollar budget. We are within budget in regard to spending, and are presently working diligently to trim our 2019 budget, as well as equipping our body to continue and increase in a lifestyle of gospel generosity. However, this still leaves us with our present challenge.

This is not the time to grow faint! If we are to see our vision come to fruition, we all must participate. We invite you to partner with us in seeing this radical new community transform a growing Downtown Memphis. Would you prayerfully consider giving to meet this deficit?

Here is what you can do now:

o   Give now! Mail your gift to: Downtown Church, PO Box 3923, Memphis, TN 38173. Give online at; or give a Text Give donation by texting keyword downtownchurch (case sensitive) to 73256.

o   Set up regular/automatic giving from your checking account; this echeck process avoids the 3% fee allowing DC to receive 100% of your gift.

o   Reach out to family members, and friends on behalf of DC who are grateful for our ministry and ask them to give.

o   Transfer Stock donations to Downtown Church (email for more information).

Thank you in advance and please join us in prayer over the last remaining days of 2018! We know our God is faithful and at work! He has not forgotten us and will provide both wisdom to manage our current challenge and resources moving forward!

Grace and peace,

Richard Rieves
