Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.
When was the last time you cried because you felt helpless to accomplish something?
Probably, we all vividly remember as kids trying to fix a cup of juice, and the jug was a little too heavy to properly pour into the cup. You probably remember as a teenager when you were trying to finish that important project, and the pieces weren’t coming together the way you hoped. It led you to great frustration and even tears. Maybe as an adult, you have encountered great difficulties in a relationship and felt helpless in making it right.
God often allows us to experience situations that show us our limitations but that magnify His infinite wisdom, strength, authority, and love!
In Revelation 5:3-5, the Apostle John experienced the limitations of human abilities to fix something broken. In this beautiful vision from God, John is humbled that only God knows how and when all things will finally be made right. His means and timing are always perfect and should be trusted above our limited strength and knowledge.
When we reflect on the season of Advent, we are reminded of a big problem the world has (sin), and of a big solution needed to fix that problem. God was kind enough to bless us with the greatest gift ever, His beloved Son, the Lamb who would come to take away the sins of the world.
Will you trust Him with all of your cares that weigh you down? Will you remember that He has provided a real solution to all of our problems? One day we will see Him face to face, free from all sin, death, sickness, disruptions, mistakes, guilt, and pain. We will worship for all of eternity because He is worthy!
